SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Launch: 25 Starlink Satellites Mission (2026)

SpaceX is set to launch 25 Starlink satellites aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base, marking an exciting start to February. This mission, designated Starlink 17-32, aims to enhance the ever-growing constellation of broadband internet satellites orbiting our planet. As of now, there are over 9,600 satellites already in space, as noted by Jonathan McDowell, an expert in orbital tracking and astronomy.

The launch is scheduled to take place from Space Launch Complex 4 East during a window that opens at 7:38 a.m. PST (10:38 a.m. EST / 15:38 UTC). Once the rocket lifts off, it will follow a south-southwest trajectory as it ascends into the sky. For those eager to witness the event live, Spaceflight Now will provide coverage starting approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled liftoff.

This mission utilizes the Falcon 9 booster known as B1071, which will be making its 31st flight. Notable previous missions for this booster include five launches for the National Reconnaissance Office, along with five rideshare missions for small satellites and NASA’s Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission.

About eight and a half minutes after the rocket takes to the skies, booster B1071 is expected to successfully land on the drone ship named ‘Of Course I Still Love You,’ stationed in the Pacific Ocean. If everything goes according to plan, this will mark the 175th successful landing for this particular drone ship and the 567th overall landing for SpaceX boosters.

Stay tuned for all the updates surrounding this thrilling mission! What do you think about the rapid expansion of satellite constellations like Starlink? Do you see this as a positive step towards global internet access, or are there concerns about space congestion and other implications? Share your thoughts in the comments!
